The second annual 4-day Seattle Clinic will be offered at the Seattle Center in late October. Last year about 3500 people got free medical, dental, and vision care (including glasses) thanks to 1500+ volunteers. They need medical types and support staff (escorts, check-in folks, etc).
Here is a short video about the event last year https://vimeo.com/124850873
To register, go to http://volunteers.seattlecenter.org/
Be aware that volunteers need to start at 5 AM and the shift goes to 6 PM or later. This doesn't sound so bad when you realize the patients line up at 10 PM the night before and wait all night to be admitted.
You get a free t-shirt and lots of good food. Plus it's really fun.
I inquired about having HT offered but haven't heard back yet.
I am signed up for Oct 23 & 24. I have room for several people to stay if you are from out of town. Be aware that I have cats.
