With the newly bestowed Accreditation, the Healing Touch Program moves into a new era of possibility. The hope, of course, is that Energy Medicine as it is taught and practiced in HT will find favor with the institutions now that we’re accredited. May it be so. CEO, Lisa Mentgen Gordon, and her husband, Chris, were our guests at the Regional Community Meeting in Olympia earlier this month. Their vision for HT is as great as her mother’s, Janet Mentgen, founder of HT, and their commitment to the success of “our” program is one of enthusiasm and sacrifice. It’s got to be a roller-coaster ride for this young couple raising three children. Their home is also the office of HTP where staff meets the needs of a growing organization.
Bernie Clarke was honored by the community she has served for so many years – and continues to serve. Dawn Warnaca had interviewed Bernie years ago as part of the class project and she provided details that most of us didn’t know. Sherri Cote put together a lovely album of notes and cards that had been submitted on the sly.
I chatted with Lisa about creating a department for “tenured” HT Instructors so that Bernie and I could stay active without having to jump through all the hoops of certification. She seemed to like the idea.
Carol Komitor was inspirational as always talking about HT and animals. A reminder that it’s not too late to sign up for the Level 1 HTA that Carol is teaching in the Olympia area May 14th & 15th. Contact Wanda Buckner at wandabuckner@comcast.net.
It was a time of reconnecting with dear old friends and connecting with new friends. It was a day filled with love and laughter. Maybe the best part of Healing Touch is community – wherever you are. The next community gathering is a Regional Conference scheduled for November. The details are being worked out now. And of course there is the national Conference in San Antonio in August. Pass me a fan, please.
Blessings, Barb

TRIP TO THE HOLY LAND
I am writing to see if you are interested in joining me as I take a group to St. George's College, Jerusalem, in 2012. Having stayed there many times, myself, I can assure you that it is safe, comfortable (private or shared room with private bath and great food) and that the tour leaders are knowledgeable and well versed in all that has gone on in the historical past as well as what is going on presently. The college is set in a garden oasis, within short walking distance to most of the the primary places to see in Jerusalem. Because of the unrest in the area, I did not feel 1) St. George's College, "Palestine of Jesus" course, May 23-June 5, 2012. Cost: $2905, which includes all meals, accommodations and fees.
2) Healing Touch Level One, June 6-8, 2012. 6th/7th: course work at St. George's Collegthis would be a good idea, until now. If things change, that's what trip insurance is all about! Here is the plan:
e; 8th: will be spent in local hospitals using HT techniques. One does not have to take the "Palestine of Jesus" course to take the HT class and vice versa.
3) Optional side trips, following the HT class, for those not taking "Palestine of Jesus" course. Costs to be determined for HT class and side trips.
There will be opportunities for me to take those interested to some of my favorite sights. St. George's College is a one block-plus walk to the American Colony Hotel (where all the news people and politicians hang out) and a five minute walk to the Damascus Gate, one of the major entrances into the Old Walled City. We will meet with Naim Ateek (if he is not out of town) and the Sabeel staff as well as other notable persons of peace: Christian, Jewish and Muslim. Depending on what is on the calendar at the time, we will be able to attend musical performances and do other things of cultural note.
Go to St. George's College Jerusalem (http://www.sgcjerusalem.org/) to find out more about the classes and the college.
Go to Healing Touch Program (www.healingtouchprogram.com/) to Level I class (in the section on Classes) to find out about the class.more
I urge you to start saving your shekels so you can join me for this wonderful experience. Any questions, email me or call: 503-230-2331.
I am working on getting airfare estimates, which are separate from the course costs. Frequent Flyer miles are good for such a long trip. If you want to be kept informed of the costs and of the plans as they are finalized, please let me know. If this is not your cup of mint tea (the specialty there) that is fine, just let me know so I don't bother you with additional emails.
Shalom, Salaam, Peace! Constance
