HTP Community Meeting in Lacey May 5 at 9:30

Please register when you receive this! Registration Form

Registration questions? Call Sherri Cote at 360-753-2276 or email.

Meeting location: St. Placid Priory 500 College St NE Lacey WA 98506. Check-in at 9:00; program begins at 9:30. Adjourn by 3:00.

Dr Roxanne Peterson will speak on Hakomi, a body-centered psychotherapy modality that emphasizes self-awareness and personal development. Dr. Peterson will
provide us with an overview of Hakomi and guide us in exercises on mindfulness, loving presence and nourishing communication. Lunch will be followed by a business meeting. HTP, HTA, and ISHA students and practitioners are welcome.

It's wonderful that so many people are interested in our HTP Community meetings, however, only people who have taken an HTP, HTA or ISHA course may attend. These
meetings provide a place where we can learn something related to HTP; frankly and privately discuss HTP business (such as the new certification requirements); renew our connection with each other; and leave refreshed and inspired to continue.

Everyone is invited to Wanda and John's home immediately after the meeting for spaghetti dinner (significant others welcome too). Bring an ingredient for the group
salad plus a beverage of your choice. Directions available at the meeting.

HANDS-ON MIRACLES
by Barbara Dahl, BSN, RN, CHTI

As I wind down a 25 year avocation as a Certified Healing Touch Instructor, I am left with a devotion to the practice and study of energy medicine. It’s been my practice to share new insights and voice opinions via this newsletter over the years and I would like to continue doing so on occasion. This is one of those occasions.

The Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS) recently ran an article about the “Hands-On Miracles” of William Bengston, PhD. His subjects were/are mice injected with cancer. He cured them with hands-on healing – all of them, every time. In fact, “the more aggressive the cancer, the faster it went away.” Curiously, he was unable to heal cancerous tumors previously treated with conventional therapies. He then trained two of his very skeptical students in a variety of mental imaging techniques – a faithless, belief-free system.

This reminded me of a video that Gregg Braden has posted on YouTube of Chinese healers chanting away a huge tumor while we watched its disappearance on the ultrasound screen This approach was emotional where the healers emotionally believed that the tumor was already gone. (Google Gregg Braden on Curing Cancer using our own Technology of Emotion.)

One online responder to the IONS article noted that “Cancer is at least a $1,000,000,000,000 industry.” I was struck not only by the twelve zeros but by the word ‘industry.’ An industry does not promote research that would put it out of business. Where is the incentive in Western Medicine to study Dr. Bengston’s method or any form of energy medicine for that matter? And what physician would withhold chemo or radiation to research hands-on healing? Ethically, they couldn’t.

Once again synchronicity was at work here. As I was writing this article, I talked with my friend Sharon Fletcher, CHTI, in Spokane who happened to mention that she is registered for Dr. Bengston’s workshop in Boulder the weekend of March 16th-18th. I’m excited to speak with her upon her return.

Dr. Bengston is a professor of sociology at St. Joseph’s College in New York City. He has written two books: The Energy Cure: Unraveling the Mystery of Hands-On Healing, and Hands-On Healing: A Training Course in the Energy Cure (both from Sounds True 2010).

Blessings, Barb

SAVE THE DATE

The Healing Touch Community Meeting will be on May 5, 2012 in Olympia. Watch for more information soon!

ST MARY’S ON THE LAKE

For the last 14 years Healing Touch practitioners have been providing treatments to retired Sisters of St Joseph of Peace at their Bellevue residence. They are deeply appreciative, and we have been privileged to work with these women who have devoted their lives to peace and service.

We are presently at the point where we need more practitioners if we are to continue at St Mary’s. Perhaps you can help. We meet there on the second Thursday of the month from 9:15 AM until about 12:30 PM. The sisters provide us with a delicious lunch.

All levels of Healing Touch students and practitioners are welcome. This is a good place to hone your skills.

Even if you can only make it a few months a year, that would be really helpful.

Please contact Christina Brugman at cebrug@aol.com.
