SPECIAL OFFER: INTUITIVE MIND CLASS

Intuitive Mind Program

Level 1 Course

This is the foundational course that teaches you the beginning Mystery School Techniques. This course is 16 hours in length and taught in one full weekend. This is the class for everyone. This may be your very first exposure to meditation and energy work, or you may have taken spiritual energy courses for years. The beauty about these techniques is that they meet you right where you are in your awareness and then take you just a little further. This is thought of as the beginning class, however do not confuse that with a beginners class.

I can summarize it very easily. A student came to the first class 10 years ago and said, “I have been doing spiritual work for 25 years and I am here to see if you can teach me something that I do not already know!” Then on Sunday at day’s end of the workshop, she raised her hand and said, “I have been doing spiritual work for 25 years and after this class I realize this is the first time I have actually done spiritual work!”
As the participant you will be able to:
  • Learn a conscious, active form of meditation that you can do anywhere.
  • Learn to cleanse and repair your own energy field.
  • Experience conscious awareness of your own energetic space to manage and enhance your life and boundaries.
  • Use your Intuition to “read” your own energetic field.
  • You will go home knowing your Intuitive Style
  • Emotional Memories, learn to finally be able to take the energy out of them so you can move forward in life.
  • Learn how to read your own past lives.
  • Really know what grounding means.
  • Our Instructors can “see” your energy field while you meditate providing you great insight into your intuitive style.

Becca Gaughan has been involved in all aspects of the Intuitive Mind Program since 2006. She has been in training to teach the Intuitive Mind level 1 course and now she is ready to take the training wheels off. This is her first flying “Solo” class where she will teach all of the sessions on both days. Nancy Rebecca will be sitting in the classroom the entire time and will participate as support to Becca. Since this is her solo class we are providing a bonus incentive of $100.00 off of the regular tuition plus a free copy of the Intuitive Mind level 1 CD. In addition because we are building our community in Seattle, we are offering our Level 2 course for $350.00 which is a great savings of $75.00 just for taking this course in Seattle. Nancy Rebecca will be in Seattle to teach this course in October.
Special Solo Price is: $325.00 which is a savings of $100.00.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY

Hello fellow Healing Touch healers,

I am a Healing Touch Practitioner Apprentice and am putting together a Healing Touch booth for the NewHolly Health Fair in South Seattle. This will be my community service project for the Level 4 homework, but I will need some help. I'm looking for four volunteers to help me with talking to people about HT and giving brief treatments. The date is Saturday, August 25 from 11am to 3pm.

This health fair will draw a very interesting group of people. NewHolly is a mixed income community with some families who are home owners and others who are low-income families living in public housing units. Many are recent immigrants or refugees and can tell stories of trauma that would make your skin crawl. In other words, it's a population in need of healing. (Although we won't be doing deep treatments, of course. It's just an introduction.)

Please reply to this email or contact me at 206-760-2282 if you are interested in helping out for some or all of it. Thanks so much!

Peace,
Karin Ogren

WALKING WITH PROTECTION: THE SHAMAN'S TOOLS FOR ENERGETIC SAFETY

Janet Partlow
Shamanic Healer

This is a hands-on, practical workshop that teaches us how to keep ourselves safe from energetic intrusions. In America, we learn many tools of physical safety:  how to call 911, how to do self-defense, how to take
vitamin C so we don’t catch colds. These are all excellent ideas.

What we don’t learn is that we humans have an energy field, that it  is vulnerable to energetic interference, even attacks. What we don’t learn is how to keep ourselves safe from such energetic blows.

This workshop teaches some basic shamanic tools that help us to understand more about our energy field and how we can stay secure. While shamanic healers know and use these tools extensively, they are rarely taught or shared. This is your opportunity to become more powerful in your abilities to protect yourself.

It will  be an exciting blend of teaching, practice and working hands-on.  At  the end of this workshop you will have a much deeper understanding of energetic protection and some specific, practical ways in which you can keep yourself safe.

Some specific things we will learn:
• We will  learn to do a shamanic journey to meet a powerful & protective animal totem
• We will  learn a potent daily clearing visualization
• We will  learn earth tools from crystals and herbs
• We will practice barridas (clearing) & smudging with plants
• We will  learn shamanic protection tools from the world of the Celts and the world of the Q’eros.

Details:

Date: Sunday September 16th 10 am - 2 pm

Location: Fertile Ground Guesthouse (directions to follow registration)

Cost: $70.00

Your Teacher:

Janet Partlow is a shamanic healer  and clinical herbalist, having studied and practiced shamanic & plant
spirit medicine for eleven years. She has been a professional registered herbalist with  the American Herbalist Guild. She practices the medicine path of the Q’ero people of the high Andes of Peru, and the Celtic shamanic path of her Irish and Scots ancestors. She has also studied and has used stone/crystal medicine for several years.

She was a physician assistant in family  medicine and public health for 26 years until her retirement in 2002; she brings a strong knowledge of western medicine to her background in energetic healing. PTSD AND THE HUMAN ENERGY FIELD

By Nancy Rebecca

This month we are addressing the issue of Post Trauma on the energy field. We usually intend to write about energy in the forms of healing, intuition, spirits, and love. In our office, we have clients who come in to see us for a variety of reasons. Some come to advance their skill in intuitive development, but truly, most of our clients are sick and tired of being sick and tired! The stress levels in life are over the top and everyone is so busy that there is rarely time to stop for a cup of coffee with a friend to connect and see how they are doing in life.

What we know from working full time with energy fields is that most mental, emotional and physical illness is rooted in some type of trauma in this lifetime. It is our hope that this newsletter will deepen your understanding of trauma on the human energy field as well as open our compassion and understanding to our soldiers coming home.

Read the Energy Health Tips section to gain new techniques to help with PTSD, and the announcements for upcoming specials, classes and events.

Sincerely,
Nancy Rebecca

PTSD Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, is where a Traumatic event happened that causes flashbacks of that event over and over again. The quicker the diagnosis can be made the easier it is to correct it. What they are finding now is meditation and visualizations help the most along with antidepressants and anti anxiety medications during the acute phase. However most traumas from childhood were never treated and still affect people in their adult lives and this makes the issue more complex.

A week ago, a woman wrote on behalf of her husband who is stationed in Iraq. He feels so disconnected from normal life. She asked if we would send him via MP3, a recording of a meditation CD and Group guided meditation and sound healing. We were happy to do both and he really enjoyed it a lot saying it helped him feel more connected.

My father is currently in Afghanistan. He is a physician who is there to track disease outbreaks; however, it has been so dangerous that he can not leave the compound. He writes weekly about the day to day life and much of it is spent in a tented camp, researching, eating, and sleeping all the while hearing bombs and gunfire. Both my brother and Father were in Desert Storm Invasion in 1990's, so we have tremendous respect for Military and their families.

Can you imagine living with these visceral visions day in and day out? We then wonder why our soldiers have such difficulty with re-entry?! This August Newsletter talks about the affects of trauma on the energy field and how it can be corrected, whether your trauma is from war, childhood, or life events.

In 2005, a woman brought her husband in for a Clairvoyant reading. He had been in Iraq for a full year and was allowed to come home for two weeks to see her. She had planned a special romantic cruise so he could just get away from it all and relax. He could only imagine how wonderful that would be. On the cruise he was having constant panic attacks, he was fearful, startled by noises, and could never settle enough to enjoy his relaxing time. I will always remember her bringing him in for a reading of his energy field. She was terrified for her husband and would do anything to get him help.

Give Sorrow Words: "The grief that does not speak whispers the o'erfraught heart, and bids it break." Shakespeare's, Macbeth

When I tuned into his energy field and started examining it the first thing I could see was his root (1st ) chakra was about the size of a dinner plate. Relaxed and calm a root chakra is about 3 inches in diameter. The root chakra is all about survival. So you can imagine, when the chakra/energy center is approximately 12 inches across it is very much over stretched, stressed, constantly activated, and the adrenal glands on constant fire mode and we are operating from a constant flight/fight as the survival chakra is the dominant chakra we are drawing information from when it is opened to such a degree.

This soldier's root chakra was not only 12 inches across, it was also so jammed with fear pictures and memories from Iraq that simply running healing energy through it did not calm the chakra. I felt as if I was removing buck shot, one piece at a time. After about an hour of focused healing attention, just on his energy field, something (a core memory) finally "popped" loose and his root chakra deflated just like an over filled balloon.

The soldier immediately let out a deep breath as if he had been holding it for over a year. He could not believe that he instantly felt normal. He was very emotional, grateful and honestly….he did not care how it worked. He was just tired of feeling tired and overwhelmed! Since that time, I have only worked with 3 other soldiers, however I have worked with 100's of individuals who were not military but who had experienced childhood traumas; in these cases the root chakra behaves similarly, but the energy usually is built up over time (rather than acute because of sudden harsh traumas that bring it to the surface) so a person can grow used to it until their energy becomes exhausted with coping.

In addition to the survival energy center being heavily stressed, when there has been chronic trauma such as repeated sexual or physical abuse in childhood, the root chakra is actually disconnected from all the other energy centers. The abused individual disconnects from their root center just so they do not have to feel the high levels of fear, terror, anxiety, and loss. Then when adults, they seem to have it all together but drama and trauma follow them everywhere in life because their root center is spinning out of control unmanaged and disconnected from the rest of their energy system.

Another area we focus on in the healings is to do what we call, "clearing the stuck pictures/memories" that jam up the head centers. When your entire system of perceiving in the head area is coated with trauma then everything in life is interpreted as a threat, frightening, and dangerous. Again, the nervous system is jumpy and hyper-sensitive to even the slightest sounds and movements. Sleep is next to impossible because the adrenals are constantly on high alert and cortisol is bathing the entire system.

When in Nepal, we taught at a private school, energy healing. The school was bombed and because we were healers and nurses we were escorted to the security guard who had found the bomb when it went off. He was laying on the ground, glass imbedded in his skin, his leg damaged. I assessed his energy field first (after assured the leg was no longer bleeding) and found his energy field to be shredded and collapsed around half of his body. Now can you imagine, his leg operated on, glass removed but no one touches the energy field? He would always feel off kilter, out of sorts and abnormal. I was able to smooth and balance his field, he calmed, his breathing calmed and with his energy field functioning well; all his physical injuries would heal quicker also. Yvonne helped others with healings, to include both of us helping to heal the energy field of the building where the bomb went off.

Yvonne and I have many years of experience in the world and in our community working with many levels of trauma. The main message that we want you to take in is that the energy field is very real and we have tools to assist shifting the trauma pattern out of the energy field. We would be happy to give talks and demonstrations where treatment for PTSD is practiced. If you have a loved one who would like to try our guided meditations, we have two basic ones that are good starters and they can be sent as an MP3 file via the internet.

Tired of life being exhausting or even when things should be calm, you do not feel calm inside, or have a loved one that suffers from PTSD? Come in to see us or consult via the phone. We would love to help!
We would love to hear the wide range of esoteric topics you would like to see us write about in upcoming newsletters. To that end.....answer this question.

If you had a most burning question or subject that you would like an answer to or information on; what would that be?
Please respond to: YvonneKilcup@intuitivemind.org and put "BURNING" in the subject line.

Energetic Health Tips
Post Traumatic Stress; is caused by a traumatic event that shocked the brain so much that any event that mimics or has sensory components of the original trauma can cause those trauma memories to become activated again in the energy field. When this happens, your brain interprets this as if the trauma is happening right now, this instant, again! As long as those old memories are firing away the symptoms can be difficult to override. The healing must take place in the energy field so that you again can live a full life with out constantly avoiding triggers. Here are some simple energy tips that can help you in the moment fear, anxiety, and old emotions come to the surface.

1. Grounding - this simple technique is the very first thing you should do. Close your eyes and imagine a tree with long, deep, strong roots extending from your hips all the way to the center of the earth.
2. Release - now imagine releasing, dumping, the fear, anxiety, old emotions and memories right down your grounding roots to be recycled.
3. Present Time - believe it or not, this is an ancient mystery school technique. In the instant you are having the PTSD episode, immediately remind yourself of what today's date is. Example today is August 1st, 2012. It is NOT, __________ and name the date outdated trauma event. You may have to repeat this several times a day during high trigger times.
4. Present age - This too, is an old ancient technique. Remind yourself your current age. Example; I am 53 years old; I am NOT 16 years old. This shifts the energy field to the current date and age and what is old outdated trauma falls away. Each time you have an episode repeat the date and age helping you to clear another level of old outdated trauma.
5. Breath - yes, breathing is very important. When you feel tense, fearful, anxious, and are being flooded with memories it is common to hold your breath and try and make yourself very small. Slow inhale through the nose and slow out the mouth. Then imagine each breath moving past your lungs further and further into your body all the way down to your feet.
6. Make notes - about the episode, how intense, and what helped the most to resolve the episode. This helps to show you your progress later on when you can look back. It also helps to remember that you are not crazy. When a memory comes up your entire energy field shifts back to that old time and you do not feel normal. Willing your mind to over ride it usually does not help much because it is an energy thing, not a mental thing.
7. If your episodes interfere with your life, it is important to come in for an energy treatment in addition to seeing a therapist that specializes in EMDR, Eye movement, memory desensitization and reprocessing. You may also benefit from antidepressants, or anti anxiety medication while going through therapies.
