So You Think You Are An Empath?
Understanding &
Managing your Gift
Instructor
Janet Partlow
In this world, there
are people who have highly developed sensitivity to other people. Often they
can sense physical or emotional
problems or pain in others, usually without being told.
These people are
called empaths. Here’s a great
description by Elise LeBeau:
“An
empath is someone who can feel other people’s emotions as their own: we literally feel what other people feel. Notice that this
definition does not assume that we are aware of it nor that we know what to do with it. It simply describes an ability to experience
someone else’s emotion, even if they are not in our physical
presence. Empaths find ourselves in the tricky situation of being
overwhelmed by the quantity of emotional information we receive. We can sense the emotions of everyone around us. It comes like a scrambled
radio station where we get bits and pieces. In its raw form, this emotional
information is incoherent and even painful as
we feel all the emotions from everyone around us.
The most problematic aspect of being
an empath is that most of us have no idea how to manage it. We don’t know how
to turn it off. We don’t know how to use it effectively to accomplish something
productive. Some of us don’t even know that we have it. We just think we’re weird and have random
mood swings and tired spells”.
In this half day workshop,
we are going to focus on what it is to be an empath,
how our gifts show up in a unique way for each of us and how we manage this
gift. Some of the activities we will do:
• Test ourselves for the specific nature of our own gift.
•
Learn how
it is we use our unique perceptions to take in
information.
•
Learn how
to put the gift away in a safe place, to be used only when needed.
•
Learn how
this gift impacts our energy field: tools for testing and repair
•
Experience
a voice-guided shamanic journey to help better understand the nature of our gift.
•
We will work
with stones/crystals for protection.
•
Focus on
a number of tools for protecting ourselves and feeling safe in the world.
At the end of this workshop we will have a much better grasp of our empath gifts and how to manage it and protect ourselves in the world.
