To All Wonderful Friends in the HT Community,
What a wonderful surprise –I still can’t believe it was I sitting in that chair at our community meeting receiving the Love Notes to Bernie from the HT Community, stories from my life by Dawn and Sherri, the Shining Star Certificate presented by Lisa Gordon, the Flowers, the Cake, and the pictures to remember all of you taken and sent by Kathryn. WOW! I also received a letter from the HT Worldwide Foundation that you had made a donation I my honor to be used for research and outreach and I thank you!!
I have so many wonderful memories of these last 15 years here in the Northwest and I will never forget April 9, 2011. I will continue to attend meetings of the HT Community as long as I can and encourage all of you to invite others in your communities to take advantage of the workshops, and group practice sessions, as you develop your unique ways to make sure HT continues to be alive in the Northwest.

How grandiose of me! Still, Oprah and I have a lot in common besides the fact that we’re both retiring this month. She was alone in the TV market when her show went on the airwaves 25 years ago. I was totally alone when I left Janet Mentgen and my healing community in Denver and moved back to Washington 23 years ago and taught my first class in a Methodist church in West Seattle. We were both pioneers -- communicating ideas and ideals for the first time in our respective communities. I’m sure that Oprah had no idea how her name and influence would soar in the worldwide community. I certainly had no idea that I was taking on the role of a trailblazer for an international community of healers. Both communities were about changing lives -- about making a difference.
Letting go is hard. The more important something is in your life, the harder it is. It’s all about attachment and I am still very attached to the Healing Touch Community and “the work.” It changed my life.

AWARDS
The Encyclopedia of Energy Medicine, by our own Linnie Thomas, has won the Nautilus Silver Award. Cindi Dale’s The Subtle Body won the Nautilus Gold Award. The encyclopedia is still a finalist for book-of-the-year. The winners of that award will be announced in June.
We need to promote energy healing, and in the case of the encyclopedia, HTP is mentioned often. So go to your local libraries, public and scholastic, and ask for copies. This puts the books in front of the eyes of the librarians who order books.

Come join Dianne Frothingham and me this summer for a weekend SoulCollage retreat that includes all of this and much more at the lovely, Dumas Bay Center located in Federal Way. We will begin early Saturday morning, July 30 and end Monday morning, August 1 after breakfast and saying goodbye to new and old friends. Though we can't guarantee sunny days, we feel this will be a weekend of renewal and re-membering, a time to connect more deeply with ourselves, with others and with our beautiful Puget Sound.

SPIRIT OF THE SACRED FLUTE GATHERING
June 3,4,5th, 2011 at He He Longhouse, Warm Springs Reservation OR.
Bring RV or camping gear. Bring flutes, drums, or other instruments. Food donation for meals appreciated. We have community meals with food brought to the gathering.
There is no fee for vendors.
Come and play flutes, drums, or any other instrument. We start on Friday about 6 PM with a welcome fire. The Gathering ends on Sunday around noon with a closing prayer.
